More Premier League title woe on the cards for Liverpool next season too

Bookies have already priced up the odds on the 2022/23 Premier League title race and they can't see past a Manchester City repeat.

There is bad news for Liverpool fans still smarting from Manchester City's dramatic turnaround against Aston Villa on Sunday - you're not going to win the Premier League title next year either.
Bookies have already priced up the odds for the 2022/23 season and City, with Erling Haaland already added to their ranks - are odds on to complete a hat-trick of titles.

Liverpool, who could end this season with the Premier League title the only trophy to elude them, are generally available at around 2/1.

The top two finished some way ahead of Chelsea in third and a repeat looks on the cards again next season, with the Blues priced up between 14/1 and 18/1 to win the title.

There is good news for Manchester United fans, though. The Red Devils endured a sorry end to the season, with defeat to Crystal Palace on the final day seeing them finish 34 points off their cross-city rivals.

However, with Erik ten Hag at the helm, the bookies believe United will finish inside the top four, with the Old Trafford side generally available at 20s to win the league.

Tottenham and Arsenal are next in the betting, with Newcastle's impressive form in the second half of the campaign seeing them being tipped for a top-seven finish under Eddie Howe.
At the other end of the table, no surprisingly it is the three promoted teams who are already favourites to make a swift return to the Championship.
Fulham are seen as the most likely of the three teams to survive, with Bournemouth and whoever joins them out of Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield already earmarked for just a season in the top flight.
Of the current Premier League sides, it is Brentford and Southampton who are seen as the teams most likely to be involved in a relegation dogfight in 2022/23.

Leeds, meanwhile, off the back of their dramatic escape on the final day, can be backed at 500/1 to complete a remarkable turnaround by winning the Premier League next season under Jesse Marsch.
