Manchester United news: Bruno Fernandes signs new four-year deal with Red Devils

The Portuguese midfielder has signed a new contract keeping him at Old Trafford until 2026, with his new wage making him one of the club's top earners.

No Manchester United fans, this isn't a cruel April Fools joke. The Red Devils revealed on Friday morning that their Portuguese star - or one of them - has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2026.
Fernandes joined United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, and has contributed 49 goals and 39 assists in his 117 appearances so far.
Having already won the club's Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award twice, Bruno has already become one of United's crucial players, and the club have now tied him down with a long-term deal.
While his earnings are so far unknown, it's believed that his new wage will put him alongisde the club's top earners.

After the deal was announced, Fernandes said: "From the moment that I joined Manchester United, I have had a special relationship with the club and our amazing fans. I grew up watching this team, dreaming of getting the chance to play here one day.

"That dream is now a reality and an honour.
"Even after two years, it still feels amazing to step out at Old Trafford, to hear the fans sing my song and to score in front of the Stretford End. It is a true privilege to wear this shirt and to fight for our incredible club.
"There is so much more that I want to achieve here, and I know that is the same for the rest of the squad and staff. More than anything, we want to give the fans the success that they deserve.
"We have shared some great moments over the last years, but the best is yet to come from myself and this team."
Fernandes was seen back at Old Trafford on Thursday morning, after returning from international duty with Portugal.
During the break, Bruno featured in a crucial World Cup playoff match for his country, scoring twice against North Macedonia to ensure his home nation will compete in Qatar this winter.
