Man United v Crystal Palace: Predictions, tips and bet builder as Red Devils seek Eagles revenge

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana

Things are beginning to look up for Man United who enter Sunday’s clash with Crystal Palace looking for their fourth straight win across all competitions (1400 GMT).

Ruben Amorim is like a human version of paracetamol – he is an expert when it comes to overcoming headaches.

His first major stumbling block was overcoming December’s dreadful run of results. With five wins from six games under his belt, Amorim can tick that box.

The Portuguese boss can also put aside the Marcus Rashford problem, with the forward set to join Aston Villa on loan.

Next job for Amorim is to climb the Premier League table and beating Crystal Palace would undoubtedly move the Red Devils in the right direction.

Here, we take a closer look at Sunday’s fixture and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Man United to win

It’s quite incredible that Man United are winless in three Premier League games against Crystal Palace. What’s more dumbfounding is the fact they’ve failed to score a single goal in that time.

It’s an incredible head-to-head record in favour of the Eagles but as you know, all good things must come to an end.

Oliver Glasner’s men were beaten 2-1 by Brentford last weekend and we expect the visitors to get another mark in the L column.

United have lost four of their last six at the Theatre of Dreams but with the Red Devils building fresh momentum, we expect their nightmare to have a happy ending.

Over 2.5 goals

United went three games without scoring a goal during their torrid December run, but in more recent times finding the back of the net hasn’t been an issue.

Amorim’s men have bagged nine goals in their last five games. Those are not particularly impressive numbers, but they’re certainly better than blanks.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have scored at least one goal in 13 of their last 14 matches across all competitions.

If both the Red Devils and the Eagles are performing to their recent levels, the over 2.5 goals bet is a top addition to any bet builder.

Most goals in the second half

There’s no such thing as a certainty in betting, but this is as close as you’re going to get.

Man United have scored 34 goals across their last 11 matches, with 28 coming in the second half. That is well over 80%.

Andre Onana +3 total saves

We’ve bigged up United in this preview. Now it’s time to bring them back to earth.

Palace aren’t FCSB. They’re not Rangers. Palace are a Premier League side that will give the Red Devils a good run for their money.

Glasner’s men are in pretty decent form, they’re scoring goals and will have no fear of their opponents thanks to a solid head-to-head record.

With that in mind, we expect United keeper Andre Onana to keep busy.
