Man City v Wolves: Prediction, tips and bet builder as Citizens look to stop rampant Wanderers

Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City during the Manchester City vs Aston Villa Premier League match
Man City return to Premier League duties this Friday night as they welcome a high-flying Wolves side to the Etihad Stadium (2000 GMT).
Pep Guardiola’s men are beginning to tighten their grip on the top five, with Champions League qualification now firmly in sight.
The Citizens are one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League at the moment having won four of their last five games. They’re also unbeaten in six.
Interestingly, the one team with a better recent record than City are their opponents on Friday night – Vitor Pereira’s Wolverhampton.
The Portuguese manager has completely transformed the club’s fortunes, not only taking them away from the threat of relegation but also overseeing their ongoing six-match winning run.
History beckons for Wolves as they look to win seven straight top-flight games for the first time since 1946.
Of course, getting a win at the Etihad is a lot easier said than done. Even though City are not firing on all cylinders, Guardiola’s men head into Friday’s fixture as heavy favourites as they set their sights on a fifth straight win across all competitions.
City certainly have momentum under their belts after beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Wembley last weekend, in order to book their ticket to a third straight FA Cup final.
Winning the FA Cup and finishing in the top five wouldn’t normally represent a strong season for the Citizens, though considering the slump they endured earlier in the year, it wouldn’t be a bad way to end the campaign.
While they are the big favourites, this promises to be a tricky encounter for City. Wolves did the league double over Guardiola’s men six years ago and they also picked up a cheeky win back in September 2023.
What’s more, City are taking on a fearless side with nothing to gain or lose. Wolves are simply playing for pride, but that does not seem to have impacted their recent performances, with Wolves beating the likes of Man United and Tottenham in recent weeks.

Two good teams, both in form and both scoring goals. Sounds like the recipe for a goal-heavy Friday night clash.
Wolves come into this game having scored 10 goals across their last four matches. City, meanwhile, have scored 11 – including two at Wembley against Forest last weekend.
Both teams to score landed in their previous three Premier League meetings and we’re backing that trend to continue.
As well as BTTS, we’re also adding over 2.5 goals to the mix. This bet has landed in previous six head-to-heads.
In terms of specific player bets, we like the look of Kevin De Bruyne to score or assist at around the 8/13 mark.
The Belgian superstar loves to play against Wolves, chipping in with 10 goal contributions in nine Premier League games against them.
Jorgen Strand Larsen is another man to watch. The Norwegian forward has scored six goals in his last six matches and is enjoying his best form of the season.
