Premier League leaders Liverpool will be looking to match a 55-year-old record when they host Ipswich Town this Saturday at Anfield (1500 GMT).

The Arne Slot machine are setting their sights on another jackpot as the Reds look to bolster their position at the top of the table.

The disparity between Liverpool and Ipswich is so big, you can find bookmakers who are giving out odds as big as 25/1 for the visitors to win.

To put that into perspective, you can bet on Oprah Winfrey or The Rock to be the next US president and get similar odds.

Before we get too political, here’s a closer look at Saturday’s fixture with some of the best bets on offer.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

    Liverpool vs Ipswich bet builder

    Liverpool -2 handicap – 4/5

Liverpool to win to nil – 3/4

Mo Salah to score first – 12/5

Ipswich Town first booking – 8/15

    Liverpool -2 handicap

Liverpool have won their last three league encounters with Ipswich by an aggregate score of 13-0. They last won four games against Town 55 years ago, between 1963 and 1969.

The Reds have also won all of their last 10 Premier League home games against promoted clubs by an aggregate of 34-7. In fact, the last newly promoted side to win at Anfield was Fulham back in 2021.

Ipswich have lost their last two games to nil – including a 6-0 pasting at home against Man City. If Pep Guardiola’s out-of-form men can get six on the board, imagine the damage an in-form Liverpool side could do.

    Liverpool to win to nil

Another bet to keep a close eye on is Liverpool to win and keep a clean sheet. The Reds have conceded a few goals lately, including a couple against Lille and Nottingham Forest.

However, with Ipswich really struggling to produce much of note in the attacking department over the last two games, we’re not confident they can suddenly turn it on away from home against the best team in the league.

    Mo Salah to score first

Backing Mo Salah to score in any game this season is like playing the lottery when you already know five of the six numbers.

The Egyptian forward has scored six goals across his last eight matches – including a goal against Lille on Tuesday.

    Ipswich Town first booking

With Liverpool expected to go on the front foot and Ipswich consequently forced to defend, it’s no surprise to see Ipswich as favourites to pick up the first booking.

The Tractor Boys have done well in terms of keeping out of the referees book in recent weeks, but perhaps that is the problem. Lack of aggression.

With Ipswich needing to show a tad more fight, we’re backing the visitors the be the first ones to receive a booking.
