Leroy Sane shares thoughts on Bayern Munich future ahead of Vincent Kompany reunion

Leroy Sane has suggested that a contract extension with Bayern Munich could be on the horizon, as his current deal is due to expire at the end of next season.

Resolving Leroy Sane's future is one of the key decisions facing Bayern Munich bosses this summer. With only 12 months left on his current contract, the club's hierarchy is eager for either an extension or a potential sale.

It's likely that Bayern Munich will have to wait until after the conclusion of the European Championship for Sane's future to be clarified.

However, the 28-year-old has hinted that discussions regarding a contract extension are progressing positively. "So far, yes," Sane told Sky Sports when asked about the contract talks.

"We haven't delved into too much detail yet. Right now, my focus is on the Euros. We'll pick up discussions after the tournament."

If, as anticipated, Sane remains at Bayern Munich, he will reunite with former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany.

Their strong rapport could further strengthen Bayern's position in retaining Sane. Recently, Sane endorsed the 38-year-old's potential success at Bayern.

Following an impressive first half of the recently concluded season, Sane encountered difficulties in maintaining his form after the turn of the year.

The German international will aim to shine for Julian Nagelsmann's side during the upcoming European Championship before returning to Bayern, where he'll lead the charge for the Bundesliga title next season.
