Leicester City sign midfielder Michael Golding from Chelsea

The 18-year-old midfielder made one senior appearance at Chelsea, coming on as a substitute in a 4-0 FA Cup win over Preston in January.

“I’m really looking forward to making leaps and bounds in my career here at Leicester and working hard to help the team as much as I can,” Golding told the Leicester website.

“Obviously the history of the club speaks for itself. There are great players here and I’m looking to soak up as much information as I can from the senior players, to learn from the staff and hopefully have a great season.”

Golding captained England at the 2023 European Under-17 Championships in Hungary and has also been capped at Under-16 and Under-18 level.

Leicester, who will be led by new boss Steve Cooper, return to the Premier League with a clash with Tottenham on August 19.
