Leeds United linked with a surprise move for RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen

Leeds United are being linked with a sensational swoop for RB Leipzig and Denmark striker Yussuf Poulsen, according to reports.

Leeds United are interested in a move for striker Yussuf Poulsen, according to some less-than-credible reports.
The transfer rumour mill is a humorous beast but this rumour has come out of left field even by the nonsensical standards we're used to.
Poulsen, 29, has made 280 career appearances for RB Leipzig since signing in 2013.
The Danish international, a product of the Lyngby Academy, has found the net 70 times for the club while chipping in 11 goals for his country.
It seems outlandish to suggest an established Bundesliga player at prime age would be willing to drop down to the second tier in England.
Speaking in January, he said: "I have no plans to leave and see no reason why it should not continue - if the level suits the club and me,"
"How many clubs in the world can offer me what RB do? We play the Champions League every year, have title chances and top conditions in Leipzig."
The Dane is now in the final year of his contract and RB Leipzig are yet to table an offer to extend his stay at the club.
He certainly has a sell-on value given his age and experience and his lack of goals at that level has to be a consideration.
Poulsen's best season for Leipzig saw him net 19 times in the 2018-19 season but has returned more than 10 goals just once in the last four years.
However, at 6ft 2 he does pose notable size and strength a key facet of his game is bringing others into attack which is something Patrick Bamford has previously offered.
A credible source has yet to confirm if Leeds are indeed interested so we think this sounds a lot like a poor attempt at starting a rumour.
But who knows? Maybe he fancies Stoke on a wet and windy night or a comfortable afternoon at The Den as opposed to Champions League football.
