Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot set to join Manchester United if they can get past his mother

Juventus have agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign wantaway midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.

The agreement, believed to be around £15million, still has to jump through a couple of hoops, firstly Rabiot's personal terms need to be agreed upon and secondly his mother, and agent, Veronique has to be happy with the switch. That's the most important thing.

The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour with Juventus, and they are keen to cash in on him as he runs down the final year of his contract.

Rabiot won five league titles at PSG before joining Juventus three years ago, were he picked the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia.

Manchester United's transfer dealings are starting to feel like the drunken lunges of an unwelcome uncle at a wedding disco.

They have been chasing main target Frenkie de Jong round the floor all summer, and show no signs of catching him.

This weekend they've taken a random swing at Marko Arnautovic, a well-known firecracker, and now have Adrien Rabiot in their sights, but his mother is blocking their path.

United reportedly have already had a very feeble bid for Marko Arnautovic turned down by his current club Bologna.
United had a terrible start to the season with a 2-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford, with most of the blame being piled on their midfield.

Scott McTominay and Fred appear to be United's current first-choice midfield pairing, which hasn't pleased Roy Keane who reiterated that the club will never succeed in the Premier League with that partnership in the team.
