Joao Felix eyes Barcelona stay: Atletico Madrid president hints at permanent move

Joao Felix's desire to extend his stay at FC Barcelona beyond this La Liga season has become more resolute with each passing day.

Since his arrival from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan, the Portuguese talent has shown glimpses of brilliance amidst sporadic challenges, showcasing his value to the Catalan side.

In a recent interview, Joao Felix reiterated his preference to continue with Barcelona, expressing contentment with his current situation while acknowledging the uncertainties ahead. He stated, "We'll see what happens next year, my family is happy and I'm happy. I would like to stay but it doesn't depend on me."

As quoted by SPORT - Adding fuel to the speculation , Enrique Cerezo, the president of Atletico Madrid, dropped hints suggesting a prolonged stay for Joao Felix at Barcelona. Cerezo remarked, "He is playing for Barcelona and it is normal that he wants to stay there. Barcelona want him and he wants to stay there, so everyone is happy."

Cerezo extended his well wishes to the Portuguese forward and hinted at the uncertainty regarding Atletico's financial gain from his potential departure, stating, "I don't know how much Atleti would get for him. That's something you have to ask the economics people, I'm a sports person."
