January 18 US Paper Talk: DC United and Inter Miami poised to make head coach announcements

Losada receives glowing endorsement from Kljestan, while Neville and Henderson are Beckham’s picks

SOCCER: DC United are close to finalizing a deal for Hernan Losada to be their new head coach. The 38-year-old Argentinian left Belgian side Beerschot on Sunday, saying "it is a dream for many coaches to work in the MLS". Losada is little known outside of Belgium but received a glowing tribute from veteran Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Sacha Kljestan. Kljestan was Losada's roommate while at Anderlecht. He said: I'm excited to see him in MLS. He's a smart guy." (Washington Post)

SOCCER: Inter Miami are set to announce Phil Neville as their new head coach today, with Chris Henderson joining him as sporting director/chief soccer officer. The appointments come after co-owner David Beckham vowed to become more hands-on with the franchise following a disappointing debut season. (Miami Herald)
