Inter Milan and Fluminense lock horns in the Club World Cup round of 16 on Monday evening. Can we find you some winning tips for the June 30 clash?

Four Brazilian teams have reached the Club World Cup last 16, and 2023 Copa Libertadores winners Fluminense have a good chance of joining Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.

The Champions League final hammering and the loss of head coach Simone Inzaghi, saw Inter Milan have a sluggish start to the Club World Cup under new boss Cristian Chivu.

They drew 1-1 with Monterrey then needed two late goals to defeat Urawa Red Diamonds 2-1. However, a 2-0 victory over River Plate was much improved, although it took them until late in the second half to make the breakthrough.

Fluminense beat Ulsan 4-2 and had goalless draws with Dortmund and Mamelodi Sundowns to keep their impressive nine game unbeaten run across all competitions going.

The Brazilians have a fantastic record against Italian opposition; winning ten in an unbeaten 14 game hot-streak. Granted the last time they played a Serie A side was a 1-0 win over Napoli in 1989.

Inter Milan for the win seems like an obvious choice, but we reckon Fluminense might have a surprise up their sleeves.

Here we’ve picked out some of the best bets for Inter Milan v Fluminense, which could give you a 9/1 bet builder if stitched together. All odds are correct at time of writing.

    Over 2.5 cards - 1/18

    Bastoni + 1 foul - 1/4

    Fluminense to qualify

Inter Milan are very skinny favourites to win this clash, even though they’ve hardly been in sparkly form in this competition.

Fluminense have grinded their way to this stage of the tournament and can scrape out another win here.

We are not expecting a convincing victory in normal time, as they haven’t scored in two group games,  but there might be some value in Fluminense to qualify at 9/4.

    Martinez +1 shot on target

If Inter Milan are to progress it will be because Lautaro Martinez has dragged them through by their nostril hairs.

He can't be ignored in the shots on target market considering he averaged 1.38 SOT per 90 in all competitions last season.

Martinez has had at least one shot on target in four of his last five starts, including the Club World Cup group stages and scored against Monterrey and Urawa.

    Arias +2 shots

For Fluminense their Colombian winger Jhon Arias is the man to keep an eye on.

He averaged 1.59 shots per 90 in all competitions this year and has had at least two shots in all three Club World Cup games to date.

Arias chanced his arm three times in Fluminense's opening game with Borussia Dortmund and scored and assisted against Ulsan.

    Over 2.5 cards

Cards are always worth a sniff when it comes to European against South American teams as something always seems to get under their skin.

Inter Milan have collected six cards in their three games so far; three each against Monterrey and River Plate, while Fluminense also have six in their bucket.

They are two of the worst disciplined sides in the competition so far, so expect some more blood and thunder.

    Bastoni + 1 foul

Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni is a walking foul at the moment.

He's picked up four fouls from two Club World Cup starts, including three and a yellow card against River Plate.

In Serie A last season he picked up 44 fouls at an average of 1.64 per 90, and with the aforementioned Arias likely to be charging down his side of the pitch the Italian international might struggle to keep himself away from the ref's whistle.
