Newcastle defender Emil Krafth has signed a one-year contract extension until the summer of 2025.

After making a return from a lengthy lay-off because of a serious knee injury, the Sweden full-back has featured nine times in all competitions so far this season.

Krafth was signed from French side Amiens in August 2019 and has a total of 73 appearances for Newcastle so far.

"I am delighted to extend my time here and commit to Newcastle for another year," Krafth said.

"Personally, it's been a journey of ups and downs since I joined the club, but I feel at home here and I want to repay the faith and support shown in me, especially during my recovery from injury.

"It is a really exciting time for the club on and off the pitch and I am so pleased to have the opportunity to continue being a part of that and hopefully help the team finish the season strongly."
