'Not a good sign' - Jurgen Klopp admits Diogo Jota concerns after Liverpool down Inter Milan

Reds secure fine Champions League away win at Inter Milan but it may have come at a cost.

Jurgen Klopp says it is too early to judge the ankle injury Diogo Jota picked up at Inter Milan, but admitted early swelling is 'not a good sign'.

The in-form Portuguese ace had to be withdrawn at half time, allowing for the introduction of matchwinner Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool left the San Siro with a fine 2-0 Champions League win but also some genuine concerns over Jota's fitness.

"I don't know," Klopp conceded. "(It's a) twisted ankle, swollen. It's not a good sign but we have to see," he added.
"We will check it early tomorrow and we need further assessment but we have to see."
Liverpool produced a bit of a masterclass in how to win knockout football in Europe at the San Siro, defending from the front and showing their own ruthless streak to win it at the end.
"We defended really well, the way you have to defend," Klopp said. "We like to win the ball early but sometimes it is not possible.
"You have to defend with passion, organisation helps as well. Defensively it was a really strong performance but it would be silly if we didn't defend well as it means a lot to us this competition and we invested a lot."
Despite the superb first-leg result, Klopp has warned his side they cannot afford to assume the tie of over.
"It's half-time, nothing else. It will be a tricky one and we have to be ready for that," Klopp said.
"They played good, they played differently, but they are really good and that's why it is half-time, 2-0.
"If it is a proper half-time, Like today, if it was 2-0 at half-time I don't tell my boys 'Job done, put your legs on the table'.
"It is a tricky result so why should we think about it now."
