Gianluca Scamacca's West Ham shirt already on sale in club shop despite transfer not being confirmed

West Ham's online club shop briefly stocked Gianluca Scamacca's new shirt, even though he hasn't officially joined the East London side...yet.

Scamacca reportedly agreed personal terms with West Ham on Monday, and underwent a medical on Tuesday. But the club has not officially announced the completion of the deal.

His new number seven shirt has already appeared in the club's online store, with the stamp 'New In' alongside it.

West Ham slapped a huge £80 price tag on the adult jersey, with £90 for the long sleeved version.

The club's shop site was immediately bombarded with online traffic, which forced users into a digital queue of at least five minutes.

West Ham moved swiftly to remove the item from the online store, but already the blooper is being referred to by fans of the club as 'typical West Ham'.

Scamacca will apparently take the number 7 shirt that was vacated by recently released Ukraine international Andriy Yarmolenko.

The true 'West Ham Way' would be to announce that Nottingham Forest had snuck in at the last minute and made Scamacca their 259th signing of the summer...
