Gabriel Jesus lays down title challenge demand to Manchester City team-mates

Gabriel Jesus said Manchester City must treat their remaining four games in the Premier League "as a final" if they are to successfully defend their Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola's men moved four points clear of title-challengers Liverpool on Saturday following a 5-1 thrashing of relegation-threatened Watford - with Jesus scoring four goals.

City can make it four top-flight title triumphs out of the last five seasons if they win their remaining fixtures and Jesus urged his team-mates to retain their focus.

He told reporters: "Now is the most important part of the season. The final games will decide the trophies. We have to play as a final every game."
Jesus' four-goal haul against Roy Hodgson's strugglers took his tally to the season for seven from 17 starts in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old Brazil international - a £27million signing from Palmeiras in the summer of 2016 - was seen as the natural replacement for club legend Sergio Aguero when he first arrived at the Etihad but struggled to follow in the Argentinian's footsteps.
He is out of contract at the end of the season amid reports City are lining up a mega-offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Jesus shrugged off speculation about his future and batted off comparisons with former team-mate Aguero, insisting his focus was on helping the club achieve more silverware.

Jesus told the official club website: "I'm very happy because I'm here to try to score goals to help with goals.

"I've said before, I'm not Aguero but I know I can help my team. Aguero is a legend, one of the best players in City's history, but I try to help as well.
"It was a great performance from everyone. We changed some players but stayed with the same quality, with the same energy.
"That's the talent we have, amazing players. It's very difficult to play here. You have to stay on a high level to get the chance. That's the challenge."
