France were held to a goalless draw by Canada while Italy scraped past Bosnia in disappointing final outings for both nations before Euro 2024.

A strong France side, including Kylian Mbappe as a second-half substitute, were unable to find a breakthrough against a team beaten 4-0 by the Netherlands on Thursday.

Mbappe's presence after concerns over a knee problem was a positive for Didier Deschamps' heavily-fancied side and he produced some bright moments, but could not give the hosts a victory in Bordeaux.

They begin their Euros campaign against Austria on June 17.

Italy also had a difficult evening against Bosnia in Empoli, but emerged with a 1-0 victory thanks to Davide Frattesi.

The midfielder met Federico Chiesa's cross with an acrobatic volley seven minutes before half-time, but there were some nervy moments at the back for Italy, who start the defence of their title against Albania on Saturday.
