Former Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani on verge of joining Valencia

Uruguay international Edinson Cavani has been on the lookout for a new club after leaving Manchester United in the summer.

Cavani is a free agent after leaving Old Trafford in June, but according to Goal, the 35-year-old could be about to find a new home in La Liga. 

The player is expected to put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Spanish club Valencia.

Over his last two seasons in Manchester, Cavani bagged 19 goals in 59 appearances.

His most successful season in England was his first, considering he scored 17 of his goals during his debut year.

Before moving to Manchester, Cavani created a fearsome goalscoring reputation at Paris Saint-Germain where he scored 200 goals in 301 games.
The Uruguayan also impressed at Napoli during his three years in Serie A, bagging 104 goals in just 138 games.
Throughout his career, Cavani has claimed a number of honours including six Ligue 1 titles, 15 domestic French cups, one Coppa Italia and even the 2011 Copa America.
Speaking of his international exploits, the forward has scored 58 goals in 133 international outings.
The one success which has eluded Cavani during his distinguished career is a European crown.
The player did reach the Champions League and Europa League finals with PSG and Manchester United, though both games ended in defeats.
