Former Liverpool and Barcelona star Luis Suarez competes move to Brazilian club Gremio

Champions League winning striker Luis Suarez has joined Brazilian club Gremio.

The Uruguay forward has signed a two-year deal with the Porto Alegre side.

Suarez first broke onto the scene in 2005 with Nacional before catching the eye of Eredivisie outfit Groningen.

The striker was soon captured by Ajax in 2007 where he scored 81 goals in 110 appearances.
A move to the Premier League followed as Suarez joined Liverpool and went on to make 110 outings for the Reds.
In the summer of 2014, the forward completed a £64m move to Barcelona where he helped the club to four La Liga titles and one Champions League triumph.
Following six trophy-laden years in Catalonia, the player jumped ship to Atletico Madrid for a couple of seasons.
Earlier this year, former Liverpool frontman Suarez, 35, headed back to his homeland to join Nacional, and played in all of Uruguay's group matches at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Announcing the deal on the club's Twitter feed, a statement from Gremio read: "One of the greatest in the history of Uruguay, Luis Suarez arrives at the Tricolor to continue his illustrious career, now wearing our shirt!
"Goal-scorer, multiple-champion, cup winner and fighter! Welcome Luisito!"
