Flynn Downes achieves boyhood dream after signing for West Ham from Swansea
West Ham's new midfielder Flynn Downes could not hide his delight after signing for the club he supported as a boy.
The Swansea midfielder joins the Irons for £12million on a five-year contract, which includes the option of a further 12-month extension.
Swansea fans have described Downes as a versatile and passionate player, who will fight for the badge and increase competition in the centre of the pitch. He is likely to challenge West Ham's Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek for their first team shirts.
Hammers manager David Moyes took an active role in the scouting and recruitment of the 23-year-old to the club he supported as boy.
