Get our Fluminense vs Chelsea Club World Cup semi-final preview, including betting tips, predictions, and a 5/1 bet builder featuring Cole Palmer to score.

The Club World Cup is reaching its business end, and Tuesday’s semi-final sees European contenders Chelsea face South American hopefuls Fluminense at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (2000 BST).

Chelsea arrive with silverware already in their pocket this year, having lifted the UEFA Conference League, and will be eyeing a second trophy under Enzo Maresca.

The Blues come into this one in strong form, having beaten Benfica and Palmeiras in the knockouts with Cole Palmer once again proving decisive.

But they’ll face a Fluminense side who have built real momentum of their own. The 2023 Copa Libertadores champions have seen off Inter Milan and Al-Hilal in the knockouts, and while they might not have the firepower of past Brazilian giants, their defensive discipline and knack for clutch moments have carried them this far.

Chelsea will be the favourites, but with key players missing on both sides and a place in the final at stake, this could be tighter than expected.

Here, we break down the fixture and offer up our best bet builder picks for the clash.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

    Fluminense v Chelsea best bets

    Chelsea to win – 7/10

    Under 2.5 total goals – 3/4

    Over 6.5 Chelsea corners – 11/8

Cole Palmer to score anytime – 13/10

Chelsea might not have been free-scoring in the knockout rounds, but they’ve controlled games well and look the better-balanced side heading into this semi-final.

With key figures like Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo dictating play in midfield, we’re backing the Blues to progress in a low-scoring encounter.

Fluminense have kept things tight throughout the tournament, conceding three goals in five matches despite facing the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan. Meanwhile, Chelsea limited Palmeiras to only two shots on target and just 0.21 xG in the last round.

With both sides missing important players, Martinelli for Flu, Delap and Colwill for Chelsea, this one may be cautious early.

We’re backing under 2.5 goals, but expect Chelsea’s attacking intent to force plenty of set-pieces. They’ve averaged over seven corners per match in the tournament so far, and we like the look of over 6.5 Chelsea corners at a good price.

Palmer continues to be the man for the big moments. The 23-year-old opened the scoring against Palmeiras and looks full of confidence under Enzo Maresca. At 13/10, he may be worth backing in the anytime goalscorer market.
