Flamengo v Chelsea: Prediction, where to watch, free tips and bet builder

Malo Gusto of Chelsea embraces teammate Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea return to Club World Cup action this Friday night when the Blues travel to Philadelphia for a group clash with Brazilian heavyweights Flamengo (1900 BST).
It’s fair to say that Chelsea fans without a deep knowledge of Brazilian football will be in for a nice surprise when they tune in to Friday’s fixture.
For starters, they may be surprised to see Filipe Luis running the show in the Flamengo dugout, with the former Chelsea man now manager of the Scarlet and Black.
Luis arrived at Stamford Bridge for the 2014/15 season in order to replace Ashley Cole at left back, but the Brazilian only made 26 appearances for the club under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho.
Another familiar face in the Flamengo team will be Jorginho, who made over 200 appearances for the Blues, winning the Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and the 2021 Club World Cup.
There are also a host of other names without a Chelsea connection who will look familiar. Alex Sandro, for instance, made over 300 appearances for Juventus, winning five Serie A titles along the way. Danilo is a former Real Madrid, Man City and Juventus defender. Guillermo Varela had a short stint at Man United, while captain Gerson played a lot of football in France and Italy.
Both Chelsea and Flamengo won their opening group matches, with the Blues beating Los Angeles and the Brazilians getting the better of Esperance de Tunis.
With that in mind, Friday’s fixture could prove pivotal when it comes winning the group and qualifying for the knockout stage from top spot.
Chelsea, who entered this tournament on the back of sealing a top four Premier League finish and winning a European trophy, will certainly fancy their chances of making a serious dent in the Club World Cup.
Flamengo, meanwhile, have kept seven clean sheets from their last eight matches and they will be looking to continue their impressive defensive record against one of Europe’s top clubs.
This is a step up for both clubs from their opening group games and a tasty encounter is certainly on the cards.

Flamengo v Chelsea best bets
Chelsea to win – 9/10
Both teams to score – 10/11
Over 7.5 corners – 1/3
Enzo Fernandez to score or assist – 9/4
Unlike many of the other big hitters in this competition, Chelsea actually look like they want to compete and perhaps even win the Club World Cup.
The Blues have won their last four competitive fixtures, scoring eight goals and keeping three clean sheets along the way.
However, Flamengo are unbeaten in nine and have won their last five, meaning they will not be pushed around in Philadelphia.
Bearing all that in mind, we are expecting Chelsea to win a close encounter. Both teams to score and over 7.5 corners are our two other additions to the bet builder.
In terms of specific player bets, we like the look of Enzo Fernandez to score or assist. The midfielder came off the bench to score against LAFC and we’re backing the Chelsea man to add another goal contribution to his already impressive record.
