Everton news: 'Eager' Dele Alli excited to work with Frank Lampard after sealing Toffees switch

Former England ace keen to get his career back on track after deadline day move.

Frank Lampard continued to make his presence felt at Everton as the Toffees completed a deadline day swoop for Dele Alli from Tottenham.

Lampard was appointed the club's new manager earlier in the day, with Everton also picking up Donny van de Beek on loan from Manchester United on a busy afternoon.

They were not finished there, though, and quickly set their sights on former England man Dele.
The deal is reportedly a free transfer, although Everton will have to pay Tottenham £10million after Dele plays 20 games for them.

"I'm delighted to have signed for Everton, a huge club with a great fanbase and history," Dele said.

"I'm eager to get started and can't wait for my first game in an Everton shirt.
"I'm looking forward to helping the team and the opportunity to work with the new manager Frank Lampard."
Dele is something of a renovation project for Lampard after losing his way over the last couple of years.

He has 37 England caps to his name and was a key player for the Three Lions as they reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. However, his influence at Tottenham has slowly diminished since and he has struggled to hold down a place in the team in the last year.

Despite his recent woes, Dele arrives at Everton with a fine record of 67 goals in 269 games for Tottenham, who he joined in 2015 from MK Dons.

Dele, 25, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Everton and is in line to make his debut at Newcastle next Tuesday. He is cup-tied for the Toffees' FA Cup clash with Brentford this week.

Van de Beek, meanwhile, is a short-term loan deal until the end of the season, although he has his sights set firmly on helping Everton improve their lowly position in the Premier League.
"Now I can say I am an Everton player, I am really happy and can't wait to help the team," Van De Beek said.
"I think it is a great club. There are really good players here and I came because I want to help them go up the table."
