England squad: Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi included, no space for Jarrod Bowen or Jadon Sancho

Gareth Southgate announced the 25-man England squad for the upcoming internationals in March, which included a surprise addition in Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi.

England are scheduled to face Switzerland and the Ivory Coast next week.

Both games are to be held at Wembley Stadium, and despite both matches being friendlies, England manager Gareth Southgate has pulled no punches in his squad selection.

The 51-year-old announced the 25-man squad on Thursday afternoon, ahead of the side's first game on Saturday afternoon against Switzerland.

England squad:

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Coady, Marc Guehi, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Ben White
Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse
Forwards: Tammy Abraham, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe, Raheem Sterling
The most notable addition to the squad is Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi, who joins England's defensive options.
The 21-year-old centre-back has played a major part in the Eagles' campaign under Patrick Vieira this season, helping them climb to 11th in the Premier League.
Despite his poor form and criticism at Manchester United, Harry Maguire remains a member of March's squad, and fellow Red Devil Luke Shaw was also included.
However, Marcus Rashford's torrid time at Old Trafford has seen him miss out, while Jadon Sancho has also been excluded despite improved performances in recent weeks.

Another major omission is West Ham's Jarrod Bowen, who has scored eight goals and assisted a further eight in the league this season.
Roma striker Tammy Abraham has kept his place in the squad after scoring 13 goals in Serie A this season. He's joined by captain Harry Kane, Manchester City trio Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling, as well as Arsenal's young stars Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka.
