Eintracht Frankfurt v Tottenham: Prediction, tips and bet builder as Spurs yearn for season reprieve

Tottenham Manager Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham will be looking to put their domestic woes to one side as they fight for a Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt this Thursday night (2000 GMT).
Spurs reached a new low in their season last weekend as their trip to Wolverhampton ended with a 4-2 thumping. Ange Postecoglou’s men have now lost 17 Premier League games this season – just two fewer than Ipswich Town.
The only saving grace for Tottenham this season is the Europa League. Winning the competition would not only end the club’s 17-year wait for a trophy but could also keep Postecoglou in a job.
Before Spurs can dream of silverware, they have a serious test ahead of them away in Frankfurt.
The German side earned a 1-1 first leg draw away in London and they will now be looking to make the most of home advantage against a very fragile Spurs side.
Dino Toppmöller’s men come into this game on the back of an emphatic 3-0 win over Heidenheim in the Bundesliga – a result which moved them up to third in the table.
Tottenham can only dream of third at this moment. In fact, Postecoglou’s men are a lot closer to being third-bottom in the Premier League.
Here, we take a closer look at Thursday’s fixture and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Eintracht Frankfurt to win
There’s only really two reasons why you would back Tottenham to win. You’re either a die-hard Spurs fan and have no other choice, or you simply have too much money and you like giving it away.
Tottenham have been truly dreadful this season and their recent results aren't showing any signs of improvement.
Postecoglou has overseen two wins from his last nine matches – one of which was against relegated Southampton and the other against little old AZ Alkmaar in the previous Europa League round.
Frankfurt, on the other hand, have won their last three home games – including a 4-1 thrashing of Ajax and their most recent 3-0 win over Heidenheim.
The German side are in good form, they like playing at home and they love scoring goals. Bearing all that in mind, we’re sticking with the hosts to win.
Hugo Ekitike to score anytime
One man who is particularly enjoying himself at the moment is Hugo Ekitike who has scored in his last two matches for Frankfurt.
The Frenchman bagged the opener against Spurs in the first leg and we’re backing him to give the Tottenham defence more problems.
Over 2.5 goals
This bet has landed in two of Frankfurt’s previous three Europa League games. It was also successful in their latest Bundesliga outing – the aforementioned 3-0 win over Heidenheim.
Four of Tottenham’s previous seven matches in all competitions have also produced over 2.5 goals.
Under 11.5 corners
Three of Tottenham’s last four outings have seen under 11.5 corners. This includes last weekend’s trip to Wolverhampton which saw only five corners.
Five of Eintracht’s previous seven matches have also seen under 11.5 corners. Three of those were at home.
