Chiellini and Dzeko examining MLS switch as two teams look to hijack Aguero-Barcelona move

It's a transfer special prior to Gameweek 7 as Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini and Roma’s Edin Dzeko are looking at US moves, while two MLS teams want to swipe Sergio Aguero from under Barcelona's nose.

Sergio Aguero's remarkable Manchester City career is coming to an end, as he announced at the start of this season that it would be his last in the Premier League.

Barcelona seem to have secured the Argentinian's services, with several news outlets reporting that personal terms have been agreed in advance.

However, nothing is final until the contract is signed, with two MLS teams looking to persuade the striker to join them instead.

New York City FC is one of them.

Their interest makes a large amount of sense, considering the relationship between Manchester City and the New York based team, as they both are owned by City Football Group.

The second team interested should come as no surprise as David Beckham has expressed that he would love to bring the Argentinian to his new Inter Miami team, who have reportedly made an offer.

It would have to be a huge deal to tempt the 32-year-old away from Barcelona though, particularly as Aguero has a close relationship with national team-mate Lionel Messi and has previously stated his desire to play alongside him in club football.

Chiellini exploring MLS opportunities as contract expires

Meanwhile, Giorgio Chiellini's contract with Juventus expires next month, and with the love and loyalty the Italian has for the club, a move away from his home country is the only option he sees.

The 36-year-old's time at Juve seems to be coming to an end as the team is looking to inject youth into the side following a disappointing 2020/21 season.

Veteran goalkeeper and football legend Gigi Buffon has already been told he will not be returning.
Chiellini has been with Juve since 2005, making 535 appearances in all competitions and winning every domestic trophy multiple times with I Bianconeri.

For Italy, he got his first call-up to the national side in 2004, making 106 appearances since then. He was given the captain's armband after returning from a short retirement hiatus in 2018.

It is reported that FC Cincinnati are the interested party that would like to bring the Italian to the MLS.

Dzeko heading for Roma door with sights on MLS move

From Turin to Rome and Edin Dzeko is reportedly looking for a move away from Serie A too.

The Bosnian's place in the squad as Jose Mourinho takes the managerial reins is under question, with the Portuguese coach notorious for making big shake-ups when he arrives.

The 35-year-old has chosen LA Galaxy as his destination, according to Corriere dello Sport, with family reasons playing a big part in this decision.

His oldest daughter (technically step-daughter) has enrolled in a university in the Los Angeles area, while his wife has wanted to take up her modelling again in the city.

Dzeko has one year left on his contract, so a deal could be worked out for a reasonable transfer fee.
However, his wage would most likely take a hit, as he is currently earning €7.5million a year at Roma.
