Chelsea's Noni Madueke celebrates scoring their side's third goal of the game during the UEFA Conference League quarter-final against Legia Warsaw

Chelsea have a Stamford Bridge date with Legia Warsaw this Thursday night as they close in on the Europa Conference League semi-finals (2000 GMT).

To say Chelsea breezed through the first leg would be a major understatement. The Blues completely dominated proceedings as they powered to a 3-0 win in the Polish capital.

Enzo Maresca’s men will now be looking to shake off their recent domestic troubles and seal their spot in a much-needed European semi-final.

The troubles in question refer to Chelsea’s recent dip in results. The Blues have suffered back-to-back Premier League draws, including a 2-2 deadlock with strugglers Ipswich Town.

If that wasn’t bad enough the club have dropped to sixth in the table, sitting one point behind fifth-placed Man City and those all-important Champions League qualifying spots.

The fire under Maresca is building, with many fans showing signs of frustrations after the recent draw against Ipswich. While a win over Legia is unlikely to alleviate pressure, bagging a spot in a European semi-final certainly could.

Here, we take a closer look at Thursday’s encounter, picking out some of the best bets along the way.

    Chelsea to win to nil

Legia’s fierce home atmosphere was meant to be their greatest weapon against Chelsea in the opening leg. Instead, the Blues exposed the gigantic gap in quality on the field and powered to the easiest 3-0 win of the season.

If Legia couldn’t lay a glove on Chelsea at home, they’re going to seriously struggle away at Stamford Bridge.

With that in mind, we’re backing Maresca’s men to win to nil and seal their spot in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

Chelsea to score in both halves

The Blues will have one eye on a big Premier League clash with Fulham at the weekend. With that in mind, don’t be surprised if Maresca opts to make changes.

Still, Chelsea have more quality on the bench than Legia have had at their club in recent years.

The Premier League side scored all three of their first leg goals in the second half last week. We expect that to change on Thursday, and we’re backing the Blues to rattle Legia’s goal in both halves.

    Noni Madueke to score anytime

Noni Madueke scored twice against Legia in the first leg despite only coming on the pitch at half time.

The Englishman couldn’t find the back of the net against Ipswich, but he did have a solid general performance.

Should he get another opportunity against Legia, we’re backing the 23-year-old to grab another goal or two.
