Chelsea can claim Carabao Cup glory, says Robbie Savage

Former Premier League star and League Cup final winner Robbie Savage casts his expert eye over this Sunday's Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Well, it's a Carabao Cup final and it's the biggest trophy in world football.

It's bigger than the World Cup, bigger than the Champions League, it's bigger than the Premier League. It’s a trophy that I've won. You know, it's the best trophy you can win as a footballer.

Who's going to win it though, Liverpool or Chelsea?

Liverpool beat Chelsea 4-1 a couple of months back and that was the first win in eight meetings between the two sides. The previous seven had ended in draws.

Pochettino’s record against Jurgen Klopp as a manager isn’t great. He unbelievably has won only one of 12 encounters against Jurgen Klopp.

Looking at the two sides, Chelsea, have they turned the corner? I thought their first half performance against City was brilliant. The game ended 1-1.

Liverpool beat Luton in midweek 4-1. But you have just got to look at the strength in depth Liverpool have at this present time. They have got so many injuries.

If both teams were at their strongest, I'd say Liverpool win it but will they and will it be a game for goalkeepers?

Do you remember? Kepa came on for the penalties in 2022 and Liverpool won the penalty shootout 11-10 and Kepa missed his penalty, which was the killer blow for Chelsea.

I don't think it will go that far this time. I think Chelsea, with Liverpool's injuries, will win.

I think Pochettino will take the trophy back to Stamford Bridge in a 2-1 Chelsea win.
