    Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt suffers another knee injury

    Bayern Munich have suffered a blow as defender Matthijs de Ligt has been struck down by another knee injury.

    De Ligt spent a spell on the sidelines for four to six weeks at the end of last year with a medial collateral ligament tear andd had only just recently returned to training.

    The Dutch defender's latest injury came whilst training with the Bavarians in Portugal.

    "Matthijs de Ligt has suffered a capsular injury in his left knee during the training camp in Faro, Portugal," read a statement on Bayern's official website.

    "The diagnosis was confirmed by FC Bayern’s medical department following an MRI scan there. The defender will therefore not be able to train for now."
