Bayer Leverkusen remain resolute in retaining their star right-back Jeremie Frimpong, dismissing any January departure speculations, according to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

As the Bundesliga season unfolds, Leverkusen have set their sights on championship glory and are adamant about retaining key players, including Frimpong, during the winter transfer window.

The forthcoming opportunity to secure Frimpong's services will emerge in the summer, with a €40million buyout clause set to become active. The Dutch defender's current contract with Bayer extends until June 30, 2028.

Previously, Frimpong's prowess attracted interest from top clubs, with both Bayern Munich and Arsenal expressing admiration for the 23-year-old right-back.

In the ongoing Bundesliga season, Frimpong has showcased his football prowess, featuring in 22 matches for Bayer, contributing seven goals and ten assists to the team's success.

Under the astute guidance of coach Xabi Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen currently top the Bundesliga standings, maintaining an unbeaten record. The team are gearing up for their next challenge against Augsburg on January 13.

As the winter transfer window unfolds, Bayer Leverkusen remain steadfast in their commitment to securing Frimpong's services, while football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate a potential blockbuster €40million deal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
