Barcelona target Roberto de Zerbi undecided about next season

With the current season drawing to a close, Barcelona finds themselves meticulously evaluating a pool of options for their next head coach. 

Among the names circulating in the footballing sphere, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, has garnered significant attention from the Barcelona hierarchy.

De Zerbi's managerial prowess has not gone unnoticed, with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola purportedly endorsing him as the ideal candidate to helm the Catalan giants in the upcoming season.

In a bid to assess De Zerbi's suitability for the role, Barcelona has deployed scouts to closely monitor his team's performances since the start of 2024. Despite this, no concrete steps towards securing his services have been taken as of yet.

Addressing the ongoing rumours surrounding his potential move to Barcelona, De Zerbi remained diplomatic yet open, acknowledging that his future plans could indeed take an unexpected turn. 

"At this moment I only have Brighton on my mind. I want to finish the season in the best way with our young players," as per quotes from BBC Sport.

"Next season? It's true I have a contract, but I have not decided anything, my attention is 100% on Brighton."

His comments came ahead of Brighton's Premier League clash against Fulham, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding his managerial future.
