AS Monaco v Aston Villa bet builder: Best tips and predictions for Tuesday's Champions League clash

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa’s trip to face Monaco in the early kick-off in the Champions League could be a cracker.

The English side has been involved in some low-scoring games in the competition, however, their recent trip to Leipzig produced five goals.

Monaco are likely to encourage a wide-open game and are just as likely to produce goals as concede them.

Tuesday’s Champions League bet builder is priced at 9/1 at the time of writing.

Monaco v Aston Villa bet builder

Both teams to score - 6/10

Breel Embolo 2+ shots - 2/5

Eliesse Ben Seghir 2+ shots - 1/3

Ollie Watkins 2+ shots - 1/2

Morgan Rogers 1+ shots - 1/5

Youri Tielemans 1+ shots - 4/9

Over 6.5 corners - 1/3

Both teams to score

Villa’s last outing in the Champions League was a wild ride as goals from John McGinn, Jhon Duran and Ross Barkley secured a 3-2 win away to RB Leipzig.

If Monaco’s recent fixtures are anything to go by, this could play out similarly. The French side lost 4-2 to PSG in their last home fixture, just three weeks after Benfica claimed all three points in a 3-2 win.

Both teams have scored in five of Monaco’s last six matches.

Seven of Villa’s last nine matches featured both teams scoring with all but one of those fixtures producing three or more goals.

Shots at goal

One of the most effective ways to boost your bet builder is to pick a selection of players to have a crack at the goal. It isn’t asking much for anyone in the forward line to have a pop and the odds start to add up.

Breel Embolo and Ollie Watkins will lead the line for their teams on Tuesday and are a nice price to take two or more shots. That shouldn’t be too much to ask considering this could be an open game.

Morgan Rogers hasn’t been shy when featuring in the UCL, averaging 2.7 shots per appearance, so he’s also a worthy inclusion.

It’ll be his job to support Ollie Watkins in attack, though operating from a deeper-lying position hasn’t stopped Youri Tielemans from bombing forward. He’s also averaging two shots per game.

The chief supporting role in the Monaco ranks belongs to Eliesse Ben Seghir.

The talented 19-year-old has registered seven goals and three assists from attacking midfield. More importantly, he averages 2.6 shots per game in Ligue 1.

Corners

Both of these teams are averaging 8.84 corners per 90 minutes through six Champions League fixtures, so seven corners shouldn’t be hard to come by.

We’re expecting an end-to-end game with plenty of goalmouth action, which should inevitably lead to plenty of touches down the flanks and inside the box.
