Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb bet builder tips and predictions: Martinelli and Havertz to shine in Champions League

Arsenal can put one put in the next round of the Champions League with a win against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday (2000 GMT).

It’s getting crowded at the top of the Champions League table, with wins for Atletico Madrid, Atalanta and Monaco meaning two points separate third and 11th.

Arsenal occupy fifth place and could almost guarantee a top-eight finish if they beat 25th-placed Dinamo Zagreb this evening.

Wednesday’s bet builder is priced at 4/1 at the time of writing.

Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb bet builder tips

Arsenal -1.5 Asian handicap - 1/2

Over 3.5 goals - 9/10

Gabriel Martinelli 2+ shots - 3/10

Kai Havertz 3+ shots - 2/5

Arsenal -2 Asian handicap

While the Gunners' one win in five doesn’t inspire confidence, they’ll expect to beat Zagreb and Girona in their remaining group phase matches.

The visitors are locked level on points with Man City and sit just the wrong side of the cutoff point for elimination, so they have no choice but to be positive this evening.

They’ll likely sit in for large parts of the game, but a Premier League side should have the quality to pick them apart, and that will draw them out of position for further punishment.

Their losses in the competition have come by wide margins, with Borussia Dortmund beating them 3-0 and Bayern Munich hitting them for nine.

Mikel Arteta’s side lacks a cutting edge without Bukayo Saka in the side, while Kai Havertz hasn’t covered himself in glory. That said, that’ll create enough to win by a margin.

It certainly helps our case that the Premier League side have only been breached twice in six matches, with three of their four wins accompanied by a clean sheet.

Over 3.5 goals

In a bid to push the odds out, we’ll bet on the version of events where everything clicks for Arsenal and they create a boatload of chances.

That could also leave the door open for Zagreb to grab a goal if they can enjoy a spell in the game, which will be hard, but not impossible.

Four of the visitor’s six Champions League fixtures have produced four or more goals.

There’s also a concern that Arsenal look more vulnerable without William Saliba in the box.

Gabriel Martinelli 2+ shots

Martinelli has been increasingly influential in Saka’s absence with more of Arsenal’s attacks going through the Brazilian winger.

He’s still not producing a great end product, scoring against Aston Villa, Brentford and Ipswich in his last eight appearances, but failing to provide an assist.

However, he’s in the thick of the action and his goal attempts are slightly up. He’s averaging 1.7 shots per game in the Champions League but should find life a little easier on Wednesday.

Kai Havertz 3+ shots

Kai Havertz is Arsenal’s only real option in attack with Gabriel Jesus' absence, so the German has benefited from extended minutes on the pitch.

He may not always take his chances, but he’s proactive off the ball and knows how to put himself in the right place.

He took three shots at goal in the draw against Aston Villa and the win over Tottenham, and he should find opportunities just as easy to come by this evening.
