Arsenal v Man City: Predictions, tips and bet builder as Citizens aim to crush Gunners title dreams

Phil Foden of Manchester City

Man City are experts when it comes to ending Arsenal’s title hopes and they will be looking to continue that trend this Sunday at the Emirates (1630 GMT).

There’s no question what the main event is this Sunday as the Gunners look to go within six points of league leaders Liverpool.

Trouble is, in order to close the gap on the high-flying Reds, Mikel Arteta would need to do something that he’s only managed once in his managerial career – that’s to beat Man City in the Premier League.

After being piped to the league crown in successive seasons by the Citizens, Arteta would love nothing more than to compound City’s underwhelming season with a keynote win at the Emirates.

Here, we take a closer look at Sunday’s big game and pick out some of the best bets long the way.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Arsenal v Man City bet builder

Arsenal double chance – 3/10

Both teams to score – 13/20

Phil Foden to score or assist – 43/20

Ederson over 5.5 saves – 9/2

Arsenal double chance

On one hand, Man City have had Arsenal’s number when it comes to getting their hands on Premier League silverware. On the other, the Citizens haven’t had much luck in head-to-head encounters.

Pep Guardiola’s men are winless in their last four meetings with Arsenal across all competitions. What’s more, they’ve only managed three goals in that time.

Arsenal come into this one in good form having won their last three matches – including two in the Champions League.

The Gunners haven’t tasted defeat in the league since November and we’re backing Arteta’s men to get something out of this game.

Both teams to score

Last time these two met, we were treated to a thriller as John Stones bagged a last gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Should we expect another goal fest? The stats certainly suggest so.

Man City have rattled the net 16 times across their last five matches, while Arsenal have failed to score in just one of their last 12 matches across all competitions.

Phil Foden to score or assist

If February is half a good a month for Phil Foden that January was, expect the Man City star to hit some serious numbers.

Foden scored six Premier League goals last month, which was more than any other player in the competition. He also had eight goal contributions across seven matches.

Ederson over 5.5 saves

With Arsenal playing at home, the onus is on them to be the instigators. Arteta’s men want to prove their title credentials and will also want to take advantage of a Man City side that is in the midst of an underwhelming season… by their standards anyway.

With that in mind, we expect a busy evening for City goalkeeper Ederson. Over 5.5 saves is the way to go in the betting.
