Arne Slot leads race for Leeds job but Andoni Iraola is in hot pursuit

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is odds-on favourite to become the next Leeds manager after rumours circulated he is in talks with the club.

The 44-year-old Slot has only been in management since 2019, when he took over at AZ Alkmaar before moving on to Feyenoord from the start of the 2021/22 season.

He won the Eredivisie Manager of the Year award in his first season in charge as the club qualified for the Champions League after finishing in third place. This season Feyenoord are two points clear at the top of the table.

Slot's impressive start to management has attracted the attention of Leeds, and bookies swiftly slashed his price to 4/6 to take the Elland Road job.

However, Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola is hot on Slot's heels at 7/4 to move to West Yorkshire. His reputation has grown in La Liga during his two-and-a-half years as a coach with unfashionable Vallecano, who he has guided to fifth place in the table.

The remaining managers reportedly in the mix for the Leeds job are way off the pace in the market.
Former River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo is best price 12/1 but also as big 25/1, while former Southampton head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl and Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou are pegged at 14/1.
Carlos Corberan signing a new deal with West Brom has seen his odds tank from odds-on to 33/1, with former Leeds favourite Marcelo Bielsa now way down the list too at 20s.
