Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Selby and Judd Trump among top stars in 2022 Championship League field

The new snooker season is upon us with the Championship League set to get underway at the end of this month.

The group stage of the event begins on June 27 with some of the biggest names in the sport set to take part. 

Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Selby, Judd Trump, Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy, Kyren Wilson, Zhao Xintong and defending champion David Gilbert have all been included for the month-long snooker extravaganza.

Leicester's Morningside Arena will be the venue as 128 players battle in the first ranking event of the new season.
All of the players have been separated into 32 groups of four as they take part in stage one of the competition.
Yan Bingtao will be one of the first big names at the table after being drawn in the same group as David Grace, Craig Steadman and Aaron Hill.
UK Championship and German Masters champion Zhao Xintong will be on a day later as he takes on Hammad Miah, Adam Duffy and Michael Holt.
World champion Ronnie O'Sullivan will begin his campaign in the second week of the event after drawing Alexander Ursenbacher, Alfie Burden and Farkh Ajaib.
Mark Selby will also feature in the second week as he takes on Ben Woollaston, Zhang Jiankang and James Cahill.
Mark Williams will come into the fold on week three. The Welshman is in the same group as Li Han, Andrew Pagett and an Asian Q School winner.
Week four also includes a number of high-profile names as Stuart Bingham, Judd Trump, Shaun Murphy, Jimmy White and Jack Lisowski get their campaigns underway.
Stage two and three of the event will take place in late July with the final of the Championship League set to be played on July 29.
