Super League acca: Wigan Warriors classic, Leeds Rhinos bounce back, St Helens slip-up

Another round of games awaits in the Super League with title challengers set to go head-to-head in a couple of potential belters.

The race at the top of Super League is beginning to heat up with a couple of big players losing ground last week.

This upcoming round is set to deliver more drama with Wigan taking on Catalans and Hull KR hosting St Helens.

Here’s a look at all six fixtures in our latest rugby league accumulator.

Super League acca

Wigan to beat Catalans by 1-12 points (15/8)
Huddersfield to beat Salford by 1-12 points (15/8)
Leeds -32 handicap vs London (21/20)
Warrington -26 handicap vs Hull FC (21/20)
Hull KR to beat St Helens (1/1)
Leigh to beat Castleford (1/8)

Odds correct at the time of writing*

Wigan Warriors vs Catalans Dragons (Thu, 2000 BST)

Two title contenders will lock horns on Thursday night in a potential Super League classic.

Both of these teams suffered defeats last week and the two sides will be intent on reasserting their championship-winning credentials.

Catalans were thrashed 30-2 by Leigh and they are taking on a Wigan side who haven’t lost at home in 14 straight games.

Interestingly, the last team to beat Wigan at the DW Stadium were the Dragons.

This will be a close one – we’re backing Wigan to win by 1-12 point margin.

TIP: Wigan to win by 1-12 points

Huddersfield Giants vs Salford Red Devils (Fri, 1945 BST)

The Huddersfield Giants’ rampant run came to an end last week with a 13-12 defeat to St Helens.

Ian Watson’s men had won five straight games across all competitions, including wins away at Catalans and Leeds.

The Giants slipped up last week but we’re backing them to return to winning ways in a close game against the Salford Red Devils.

TIP: Huddersfield to win by 1-12 points

Leeds Rhinos vs London Broncos (Fri, 2000 BST)

Leeds Rhinos are struggling. Two wins from six games is a woeful return for a club with major expectations.

Despite this, the Rhinos should have enough quality to overcome a struggling London side who really are out of their depth in the Super League.

A handicap of -32 at around even money is a steal considering even Castleford put 40 past the Broncos.

TIP: Leeds Rhinos -32 handicap

Warrington Wolves vs Hull FC (Fri, 2000 BST)

Hull FC are the whipping boys of Super League this season and we’re expecting them to get another spanking this week.

Warrington may have slipped up against Salford last time out, but with Hull offering little in attack and even less in defence, the Wolves are expected to dominate.

TIP: Warrington -26 handicap

Hull KR vs St Helens (Sat, 1500 BST)

The game of the weekend takes place at Craven Park where an ambitious Hull KR side host St Helens.

Rovers stunned defending champions Wigan last week with a 26-10 win. Saints, meanwhile, picked up a razor thin victory at home over the Giants.

This Saturday afternoon clash has the makings of a classic and we’re backing the hosts to prevail in a nail-biter.

TIP: Hull KR to win

Leigh Leopards vs Castleford Tigers (Sat, 1730 BST)

Castleford Tigers have shown a bit of resolve in recent weeks, winning three of their last six matches across all competitions.

Leigh, on the other hand, ended a run of four straight defeats with a shock win over Catalans. Who saw that coming?

That, coupled with a narrow defeat to Warrington, shows that the Leopards are just getting started.

We’re backing the hosts to go back-to-back in front of their own fans.

TIP: Leigh to win
