The CHL Semi-Finals are in full swing, which also means it’s time to start voting for the LGT MVP Award – the trophy which honours the Most Valuable Player in the Champions Hockey League.

An expert jury from across Europe has appointed five nominees for the prestigious award.

The Champions Hockey League has offered top-quality, exciting ice hockey action throughout the season.

However, with the final rounds of the competition approaching fast, we want to give some extra attention to the players who have been pushing the limits a little further. Which is why it is time to present the LGT MVP Award to the best player of the season.

The short-list with the five nominated players has been selected by an expert jury from across Europe. Now it is up to the fans to select their favourite player by voting on the CHL website.

Voting will be open until 21 January (23:55 pm CET) and will count to 50% of the final result while the other 50% of the vote will be based on the jury’s expertise.

The nominated players for the LGT MVP Award are:

Dominik Lakatos (FW/CZE) – Vítkovice Ridera
Linus Lindstrom (FW/SWE) – Skelleftea AIK
Matej Machovsky (GK/CZE) – Vítkovice Ridera
Tarmo Reunanen (DE/FIN) – Lukko Rauma
Sami Vatanen (DE/FIN) – Geneve-Servette

The winner will be announced at the CHL Final on 20 February 2024.

This year’s jury consists of the following members: Fadri Holinger (Sport Manager at the CHL), Janne Pesonen (Finnish ice hockey legend & 2018 CHL Finalist), Basti Schwele (German ice hockey commentator), Bengt-Åke Gustafsson (Swedish ice hockey legend & IIHF Hall of Fame member) and Thomas Roost (Swiss NHL Scout for Central Scouting Europe & TV analyst for MySports).
