Helmut Marko has suggested that Liam Lawson could secure a full-time Formula 1 seat with Red Bull Racing in 2025.

Lawson, who made his F1 debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, stepped in for the injured Daniel Ricciardo.

He went on to race in five events in 2023, earning two points with a standout performance in Singapore.

During Lawson's stint, Red Bull's motorsport advisor, Marko, hinted that the New Zealander might join the team full-time for the 2025 season, following Ricciardo's return for 2024 alongside Yuki Tsunoda.

Marko has openly expressed his interest in seeing Lawson in a Red Bull car, suggesting that either Ricciardo or Sergio Perez could be leaving the team at the end of the year.

Max Verstappen is expected to continue in his current role.

Marko clarified that a decision on Lawson's future would be made quickly. "In September, there will be a decision," Marko told Kleine Zeitung.

"Next year, he will be in one of our cars."

However, Marko did not specify whether Lawson would be placed in the main Red Bull team or its sister team, RB.

Lawson has indicated he may explore opportunities outside Red Bull if a full-time seat isn't offered.

As the 2024 F1 season gears up after the summer break, all eyes will be on the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort on August 25, which will continue the intense battle for the championship.
