Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz wants stability, winning potential in new team

Formula One driver Carlos Sainz has revealed that he is looking for a stable and competitive team to join next season after leaving Ferrari.

At the conclusion of the ongoing season, the Spaniard will bid farewell to Ferrari, paving the way for the arrival of seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who is transitioning from Mercedes.

Speculations abound regarding Sainz's potential destinations, with Mercedes and Stake among those mentioned, the latter set to rebrand as Audi in 2026.

In his quest for a fresh start in F1, Sainz has identified team stability as an important factor, while also noting that he hopes to be in a car that can compete near the front of the grid.

"[I'm] looking for a project first that allows me to win and be performing [at the front] as soon as possible," he told the media.

"But [I'm] looking at stability and how important stability and a project together in medium to long term is, to build a strong team and a team to understand the driver and the driver to understand the team.

"With those two things in mind and those two things that you need to put into the equation, I will take my decision [while] taking my time."
