Red Bull's Max Verstappen anticipates exciting changes at Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix

Red Bull's star driver, Max Verstappen, is eagerly awaiting the upcoming Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, intrigued by the modified track layout and its return to the original design.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen eagerly awaits the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, intrigued by the revamped track layout.
The upcoming 2023 event will witness the removal of the chicane before the final corner, restoring the Turns 14-15 section to its original configuration, prevalent prior to 2007.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a long-standing fixture on the F1 calendar, has undergone further alterations, including the installation of TECPRO barriers in high-speed corners and the implementation of additional safety features.
Verstappen, who secured his maiden F1 triumph in Barcelona in 2016, expresses his enthusiasm for returning to the familiar circuit. "I'm looking forward to revisiting a track that is ingrained in our collective memory," Verstappen revealed in anticipation of the race weekend to media.
"I'm particularly intrigued by the new layout of the final two corners. This circuit holds cherished memories for me, especially clinching my first Formula 1 victory here."
In addition to the racing excitement, Verstappen appreciates the vibrant city of Barcelona, enhancing his overall experience. "Barcelona is a fantastic city, and this weekend provides a wonderful atmosphere. It's an ideal location to be in," he added with a smile. "Hopefully, we'll be blessed with splendid weather to add an extra dimension to the challenge."
Verstappen approaches the seventh round of the 2023 F1 season as the World Championship leader, boasting a commanding 39-point advantage over Sergio Perez. Furthermore, Red Bull enjoys a substantial 129-point lead over Aston Martin in the Constructors' standings.
Drivers universally relish the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which has traditionally served as a vital testing ground during winter preparations. The track's diverse range of high- and low-speed corners, including the demanding Turn 3 right-hander, offers a prime opportunity to assess the car's balance bestowed by the team's talented designers for the competitive season ahead.
