Christian Horner has acknowledged that Max Verstappen's achievement of setting a new F1 record with 10 consecutive wins held significant meaning for the driver.

Verstappen has been rewriting the Formula 1 history books during this season, piloting the dominant RB19 to an unbroken streak of victories since his teammate Sergio Perez's triumph in Baku.

His recent triumph at the Italian Grand Prix marked his 10th consecutive win, surpassing the previous record he shared with Sebastian Vettel and Alberto Ascari. Additionally, Red Bull's remarkable streak of 15 consecutive wins is without precedent.

Although Verstappen has often downplayed the importance of his accomplishments and expressed a lack of concern about chasing records, it appears that behind the scenes, his team believes that the seemingly composed Dutchman placed more importance on the win record than he publicly admitted.

"I wouldn't say nervous, but I would say you could definitely feel that his focus was razor sharp, more than usual. You could see that it definitely meant something to him," team principal Horner said.

"To get that 1-2 finish and for Max to be on his own with the most consecutive F1 wins at 10 victories is quite outstanding."

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko also noticed how important it was for Verstappen to break the record.

"For Max, this winning streak means a lot," Marko said. "For me personally, getting the 100th win as a team was even more special than this, but it is fantastic for Max.

"Max was a little bit nervous to get it done here as well, for him it was really important I believe to break this record.

"Now he has it, so I think that is a bit more relaxing for the races that are coming."
