Aston Martin's performance director, Tom McCullough, believes the team let Sebastian Vettel down during the 2022 Formula 1 season.

The four-time F1 World Champion signed for Aston Martin in 2021 and managed to earn the team's first podium in Azerbaijan in his maiden season.
However, 2022 was tough for Aston Martin as they struggled to field a competitive package, resulting in Vettel claiming only 37 points over 20 races.
The German decided to retire from F1 at the end of the season, and McCullough praised him for his hard work and performances under difficult conditions.
McCullough believes Aston Martin will be stronger in 2023 thanks to the work put in by Vettel.
"With Sebastian, whenever we gave him a car capable of a strong result, you had that confidence he was going go out there and deliver, which he did for us," said McCullough.
"We didn't always quite give him a good enough car; it's a shame that he won't be here to reap the reward of some of his hard work over the last two years."
