UFC Fight Night tips: Tom Aspinall firm favourite but Poland’s Marcin Tybura will be no pushover

Tom Aspinall will be looking to mark his UFC return in style when he takes on Marcin Tybura at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night.

One year on from sustaining a nasty injury in his fight against Curtis Blaydes, Tom Aspinall (12-3) returns to the UFC cage.

The Brit was forced to undergo surgery on his torn MCL and damaged ACL after locking his knee during a kick just 15 seconds into his main event bout with Blaydes.

"I never thought it would happen in a fight," said Aspinall, as quoted by ESPN.

The 30-year-old fought for three years with the injury, which originally occurred during a training session.
"The weirdest thing about it was that my knee locked. That's happened a few times before, definitely, but it happened when I was grappling on my knees. It would never happen when I threw a kick. That was the first time it happened with a kick."
This weekend, the Salford-born MMA star returns to the same venue as a sold-out O2 Arena awaits his comeback.
Aspinall will square off with Poland's Marcin Tybura who boasts a 24-7 professional record.
While many are already sizing up Aspinall for a future bout with heavyweight champion Jon Jones, Tybura shouldn't be easily dismissed.

The Pole may be about to turn 38 in a few months' time, though with seven wins from eight fights to his name, Tybura is in a good run of form and can pose Aspinall some questions.

Alexander Volkov has been the only man to stop Tybura since 2019, with the Polish heavyweight picking up recent wins over Alexander Romanov and Blagoy Ivanov.

Despite this, Aspinall is a favourite for a reason. While he may have been out of the octagon for a year, the Brit has enjoyed a terrific start to his UFC career, winning his first five fights with the organisation before the Blaydes loss - four of those wins coming in the opening round.

We expect Tybura to pose a good challenge, though our recommendation is to back Aspinall to get the job done in front of 17,000 of his home fans.
