PFL Europe: Who is light heavyweight contender Simeon Powell?

The latest GB Top Team prospect Simeon Powell will be looking to extend his winning streak to eight as he takes on Dutch kickboxer Mohamed Amine.

"Smooth" turned professional in 2021, dazzling audiences with his all action style that saw him finish all his opponents in the opening round to take his budding career to 4-0.

The first test of Powell's career came on the inaugural season of the PFL Challenger Series. Due to face Karl Williams on week one, Powell was forced to withdraw due to injury leaving him unable to fight until week eight and facing a new opponent.

When the day came to finally fight on the series, Powell stepped up and dominated Tobias Baker to a unanimous decision victory, thus securing himself a PFL contract.

Opportunity knocked once more for Powell when selected as a short notice replacement to face Clinton Williams. The 24-year-old certainly made his mark in the PFL light heavyweight division as he picked up a knockout victory courtesy of a beautiful knee.

Another short notice change of opponent saw Powell dominate Joao Paulo Fagundes, stopping the Brazilian's unbeaten streak via brutal leg kicks.

The fighter seemed on course for a spot in the £1million PFL tournament, however the organisation had other ideas.

The announcement that the PFL would be launching a European series was music to Powell's ears and he was quickly announced as part of their light heavyweight roster.
Now with a record of 7-0 with six finishes, Powell enters the light heavyweight tournament as the favourite for the $100,000 grand prize, and a spot in the following seasons main PFL tournament.
Simeon Powell takes on Mohamed Amine in the main event of PFL Europe 1 live from Newcastle on Saturday March 25th.
