Dustin Poirier vs Michael Chandler added to stacked UFC 281 card

A grudge match between lightweights Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler has been added to a star-studded UFC 281 line-up.

ESPN's Brett Okamoto reported that the three-round clash has been added to the 12 November card at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Poirier's last visit to the octagon in December 2021 saw him go down to UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliviera. For Chandler, he earned an impressive KO win over veteran Tony Ferguson in May.

The beef between Chandler and Poirier seemingly started shortly after, with the latter throwing shade on Chandler's star power despite his checkered UFC record during an interview on the MMA Hour.

Then in July, their rivalry was on full public display. In a video filmed by welterweight contender Gilbert Burns, Poirier and Chandler were seen arguing octagon-side at UFC 276, with Poirier seemingly calling chandler fake before saying "I'll f*** you up!"
UFC 281 already has two title fights on the card. The man around who the card was built - middleweight champion Israel Adesanya - takes on the dangerous Alex Pereira, while Carla Esparza puts her women's straweight belt on the line against Zhang Weili.
Further down the main card, the exciting Dan Hooker takes on Claudio Puelles at lightweight, while light heavyweight contender Dominick Reyes faces Ryan Spann.
