Conor McGregor out of UFC 303! Dana White confirms replacement main event

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor’s much anticipated return fight has been cancelled just a fortnight before he was due to face Michael Chandler in Las Vegas at UFC 303.

McGregor has been out since breaking his leg in a July 2021 defeat to Dustin Poirier but was scheduled to top the bill on June 29.

McGregor hasn’t fought since July 2021 when he suffered an injury against Dustin Poirier.

In fact, since his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018, the Irishman has only made three other appearances in the UFC octagon.

However, McGregor's comeback bout has now been pulled due to an unspecified problem.

“Conor McGregor is out of 303 versus Michael Chandler with an injury,” UFC chief executive Dana White announced in a video posted on X.

Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will defend his belt against Jiri Prochazka in the new main event.
