Yarmouth racing tip: Dandy Maestro top value under Oisin Murphy

After seeing his two best bets occupy the first two spots in reverse order on Monday, Tipstrr racing expert Steve Jones is hoping to go one better with his selection from Tuesday’s Yarmouth meeting.

16:00 Yarmouth: Quinnbet Daily Free Bet Handicap (1 mile)

The most attractive option at the prices is Dandy Maestro, for whom a straight, flat galloping mile is ideal, as he proved a year ago over this course and distance as the heavily-backed 11/10 favourite of seven, racing off the top mark of 83, although eventually being edged out in a close three-way finish.

Later on in the season, Dandy Maestro was given another opportunity over a straight, flat, galloping mile at Newbury, where he finished a very commendable fourth of nine, missing the places by just three quarters of a length and finishing just over a length behind the runner-up.
A similar effort today would give Dandy Maestro a big chance off his current mark of just 77 (six pounds lower) with the strong booking of Oisin Murphy an obvious plus.

The blinkers he wore that day are on again this time and this will be the first time since then that he has been found an opportunity over a straight, flat galloping mile.

Suggested bet: Dandy Maestro in the 16:00 at Yarmouth

Near-side runners (higher draws) often have the edge on this straight track and the two previous renewals of this race have been won from the higher stalls, so Dandy Maestro could find himself in the right place from his outside berth of seven.
Of the others, Dashing Dick boasts some very good figures at this track (32134) and his latest outing on unsuitable heavy ground at Leicester can easily be overlooked.
Next best bet: Dashing Dick in the 16:00 at Yarmouth
Prior to that, the five-year-old was in very good form running over a mile on the all-weather during the winter, and he looks to be an intriguing runner on his first try over a mile at this favoured venue.
