Lingfield top racing tip: Nordic Glory can challenge market leaders

Tipstrr racing expert is looking to end the week the way he began it - by landing a winner at Friday's Lingfield meeting, where he expects Nordic Glory to challenge his more fancied rivals.

This five-furlong dash is full of willing pace-setters, and that is bound to suit Nordic Glory, a winner over six furlongs at this track last season, who is at his best when there is a fast pace in front of him over the minimum trip.

His latest run, over the same distance at Wolverhampton two weeks ago, was much better than his finishing position suggests because he was repeatedly denied a clear run in the home straight and still only finished one and a half lengths off the winner.

That performance strongly implies this four-year-old gelding could be ready to strike again, just as he did this time last year, when he won a 0-70 handicap over six furlongs around here. Off a mark of 69 he won it by nearly two lengths, so he has to be of strong interest now that his mark has dropped to 60 and he looks to be peaking again.

With a suitably strong pace looking very likely this time, and with the extremely well-handicapped Nordic Glory just hitting form, this four-year-old looks a good bet, and this could be set up perfectly for him.
Suggested bet: Nordic Glory to win the 16:35 race at Lingfield

Next best bet: The Defiant

Of the others, the seven-year-old The Defiant was very highly tried and had no chance whatsoever in a very strong Class 2 handicap on his return to action last weekend because he ran in that 0-103 contest from 13 pounds out of the handicap.

He is sure to come on for the run, however, and now that he is racing off his correct mark and down in lower-tier Class 5 company, he is of interest given that he finished second of 10 in a higher-graded Class 4 handicap over five furlongs at Chelmsford only four runs ago.
A repeat of that would put him right in the picture at this lower level and three of his last four wins have come over this course and distance, so he clearly loves it here and he has a very handy inside draw, too.
