Each-way tip for Doncaster: Yanifer primed for prominent run in Lincoln Handicap

The Lincoln is the first big flat handicap of the season and usually goes to a highly progressive sort, and Tipstrr racing expert Richard Hutchinson has his expert eye on one in particular.

The draw in such a big-field race is always tricky to fathom, but from previous runnings on soft ground, a mid-to-low draw could be advantageous here.
The soft ground will undoubtedly have the biggest bearing on the outcome so the fact that the market leaders, Awaal, Al Mubhir, Wanees, and Atrium all have form on slow ground means they have strong claims. That said, the high draws of Wanees and Awaal could work against them.

The one I like at a price is Yanifer, who showed highly progressive form at the back end of last season, winning twice on soft ground over seven furlongs, staying on strongly and spread-eagling the fields, including in a 19-runner handicap over another straight course at York.

The second horse franked the form next time out and Yanifer sneaks in here off 92 on bottom bottom-weight, with the promise of more to come.

Suggested bet: Yanifer to win the Lincoln Handicap (3:35 Doncaster)
He sits at a big price as he was down the field in his recent all-weather prep race over an extended mile trip. However, that was an eye-catching run, as he was drawn wide and was held up before staying on from the rear without ever threatening.

Considering he is usually a prominent runner, this had all the hallmarks of a blatant pipe-opener for today, but more importantly for me, it confirmed that he stays the one-mile trip.

His speed ratings are right up there with the best in the field, so I think he can run a huge race from a good berth in stall nine.

His 22/1 price and the extra places being offered by most bookmakers makes him a decent bet and I recommend a point each way.
